Este acto implica m\u00e1s que lo que aparenta: no se est\u00e1 estrenando como cualquier otra marcha, sino que est\u00e1 saliendo del \u00e1mbito privado de los salones aristocr\u00e1ticos donde se compuso para pasar a la <\/span><b>esfera p\u00fablica<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, de donde nunca m\u00e1s saldr\u00e1. A partir de all\u00ed, la canci\u00f3n patri\u00f3tica, que fue pensada por la \u00e9lite revolucionaria como un instrumento pol\u00edtico, conmover\u00e1 gente de distintas clases y geograf\u00edas para convertirse en el \u201c<\/span><b>s\u00edmbolo absoluto de la utop\u00eda igualitaria de la revoluci\u00f3n americana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, como dice Esteban Buch.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marcha Patri\u00f3tica<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de Vicente L\u00f3pez y Blas Parera <\/span><b>se extiende por el continente, interpelando sujetos dispares<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: la canta San Mart\u00edn en Chacabuco despu\u00e9s de cruzar los Andes, pero tambi\u00e9n un grupo de esclavos paname\u00f1os cientos de kil\u00f3metros m\u00e1s al norte. A\u00fan no conoce de fronteras, pues no exist\u00edan todav\u00eda ni el Estado ni la Naci\u00f3n Argentina, y se buscaba integrar a la mayor cantidad posible de hombres a la Revoluci\u00f3n. Argentina es a\u00fan un concepto difuso: <\/span><b>el \u201cgran pueblo argentino\u201d no refiere a una realidad sino a un proyecto, que todav\u00eda no tiene l\u00edmites territoriales precisos ni un sentimiento de pertenencia homog\u00e9neo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. La marcha tambi\u00e9n se canta al otro lado de la cordillera, hasta que en 1819 se encarga un primer himno chileno.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A partir de la <\/span><b>Iglesia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y el <\/span><b>Ej\u00e9rcito<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marcha Patri\u00f3tica<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> se difunde y logra mantenerse a pesar de los vaivenes pol\u00edticos de las siguientes d\u00e9cadas. Se conserva un manuscrito de 1847 de Vicente L\u00f3pez, cuya letra es id\u00e9ntica a la de 1813, pero se encuentra un cambio sustancial: <\/span><b>su t\u00edtulo ahora contiene la palabra \u201chimno\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En 1862, cuando comienzan las \u201cpresidencias hist\u00f3ricas\u201d de Mitre, Sarmiento y Avellaneda, ya se puede hablar de un incipiente Estado Argentino. Sin embargo, <\/span><b>la nacionalidad argentina a\u00fan no existe como tal y durante las pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas el objetivo de la \u00e9lite ser\u00e1 formarla<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sus principales herramientas son los <\/span><b>s\u00edmbolos patrios<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y la <\/span><b>historia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que se difunden a trav\u00e9s de la Escuela.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vicente Fidel L\u00f3pez, hijo del escritor del himno, fue, junto con Mitre, uno de los principales difusores de una \u201chistoria oficial\u201d, que ten\u00eda como objetivo la <\/span><b>creaci\u00f3n de la identidad nacional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Esta historia se encarg\u00f3 de <\/span><b>mitificar los sucesos de la Revoluci\u00f3n de Mayo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> para instalarlos en la memoria colectiva. Esta misma suerte corri\u00f3 el himno. Lucio Vicente L\u00f3pez, hijo de Vicente Fidel, escribi\u00f3 en 1884 un relato <\/span><b>romantizando el momento en que su abuelo escribi\u00f3 la letra del himno<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por la calle, L\u00f3pez, con paso acelerado, procuraba llegar pronto a su casa porque las estrofas, una detr\u00e1s de las otras, se presentaban a sus labios, se amontonaban y desparramaban buscando la hoja de papel en que deb\u00edan vaciarse. Lleg\u00f3 a su casa a las diez de la noche, encendi\u00f3 la luz, la familia dorm\u00eda, y all\u00ed sobre la mesa, casi vertiginosamente, cayeron una a una las octavas que un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s deb\u00edan sonar en todos los ej\u00e9rcitos argentinos y ocho a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s en toda Am\u00e9rica del Sud.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cerca del centenario de la Revoluci\u00f3n y con cada vez m\u00e1s flujo migratorio, la tarea de propagar la identidad nacional contin\u00faa. El creador del Museo Hist\u00f3rico Nacional, Adolfo Carranza (no el de la estaci\u00f3n Ministro Carranza, que fue ministro de obras p\u00fablicas de Alfons\u00edn), encarg\u00f3 una pintura que retratara la <\/span><b>primera vez que se toc\u00f3 el himno en la casa de Mariquita S\u00e1nchez de Thompson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. No se tiene registro de que la escena haya ocurrido, pero qu\u00e9 m\u00e1s da, si el objetivo de la obra no es atenerse a los hechos sino mitificar un evento de la historia nacional. Quien canta es Remedios de Escalada, que mira a su futuro esposo Jos\u00e9 de San Mart\u00edn, parado tras el sill\u00f3n con una mano en el vientre, como Napole\u00f3n. En el a\u00f1o 1900, el presidente Julio Argentino Roca da la forma definitiva a la letra. Sucede que el original de Vicente L\u00f3pez contaba con 9 estrofas y duraba 20 minutos. <\/span><b>El recorte de Roca se debi\u00f3 al<\/b> <b>profundo contenido anti espa\u00f1ol de la letra original<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buenos Aires se pone a la frente\/ De los pueblos de la \u00ednclita Uni\u00f3n\/ Y con brazos robustos desgarran\/ Al ib\u00e9rico altivo Le\u00f3n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. Este \u201cib\u00e9rico altivo le\u00f3n\u201d desgarrado por los pueblos americanos es ni m\u00e1s ni menos que Espa\u00f1a.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La letra se hab\u00eda escrito en un contexto de guerra con Espa\u00f1a, pero la situaci\u00f3n a fines del siglo XIX ya era otra. Argentina (ya se le puede decir as\u00ed) ten\u00eda cada vez m\u00e1s <\/span><b>inmigraci\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e intenciones de mantener <\/span><b>buenas relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> con su antigua metr\u00f3poli. Desde 1865 los embajadores espa\u00f1oles ten\u00edan \u00f3rdenes de retirarse de un acto protocolar en el que se cantara el himno y la comunidad espa\u00f1ola firmaba petitorios para que se suprimieran las partes ofensivas. Si bien en la pr\u00e1ctica no se acostumbraba a cantar las 9 estrofas originales, <\/span><b>la forma se oficializa con Roca<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En 1927, bajo la presidencia de Alvear, se busca canonizar la m\u00fasica, para <\/span><b>unificar las numerosas variantes en circulaci\u00f3n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. La comisi\u00f3n que se crea con este prop\u00f3sito dice haber encontrado un manuscrito original de Blas Parera y tras meses de trabajo presentan la nueva versi\u00f3n: el tempo se acelera dr\u00e1sticamente, se quita buena parte de la introducci\u00f3n y se cambia la melod\u00eda del \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Libertad, libertad, libertad<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d por una con un intervalo de oncena, raro en la m\u00fasica y muy dif\u00edcil de cantar. El diario conservador La Prensa inicia una <\/span><b>campa\u00f1a medi\u00e1tica fenomenal contra la nueva versi\u00f3n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, diciendo que ni San Mart\u00edn habr\u00eda podido cantar ese salto mel\u00f3dico e instalando que un estudiante y un soldado hab\u00edan sido echados de la escuela y el Ej\u00e9rcito por negarse a cantarlo. La presi\u00f3n es tal que el 9 de julio se congrega una multitud en la Plaza de Mayo y la jornada termina, seg\u00fan el diario, con 30 heridos y 20 muertos. Tras la manifestaci\u00f3n y la elaboraci\u00f3n de un informe que decreta que la partitura original de Parera es falsa, Alvear se ve obligado a restaurar la versi\u00f3n de Esnaola, como lo era antes y lo es hoy en d\u00eda.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: large;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El himno, entonces, se muestra como <\/span><b>herramienta pol\u00edtica <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">desde sus inicios. En un primer momento se concibe como un instrumento de la Revoluci\u00f3n, luego es utilizada por el Estado para reforzar la conciencia nacional.
