sin embargo no es la cl\u00e1sica novela \u00bfCon qu\u00e9 nos vamos a encontrar en este \u00faltimo libro?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Justamente con eso: con una suerte de h\u00edbrido entre libro de cuentos y novela. No por el formato de relatos breves sino por la forma en que est\u00e1n ordenados los textos. Son, b\u00e1sicamente, fragmentos que transcurren dentro de un mismo universo. Un poco me inspir\u00e9 en Cordwainer Smith, un poco en Manuel Puig y un poco en <i>La balada de Buster Scruggs<\/i> de los hermanos Coen. Ponele que agarr\u00e9 ese mejunje de ideas narrativas, lo pas\u00e9 por un filtro de g\u00f3tico porte\u00f1o sci-fi y sali\u00f3 esto.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00bfC\u00f3mo trabaja un escritor de ciencia ficci\u00f3n en un universo cultural que est\u00e1 -si se puede decir de alguna manera- en disputa con los formatos audiovisuales?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tal vez peque de optimista, pero yo no creo que est\u00e9n realmente en disputa sino que son formatos complementarios. En mi caso particular suelo incluir muchas referencias cinematogr\u00e1ficas, porque es un poco lo que respiro, por eso uno de los grandes homenajeados en <i>Palermo Dead<\/i> es Leonardo Favio. Tambi\u00e9n creo que el cine puede ayudar a fomentar el inter\u00e9s en lo literario, como est\u00e1 pasando gracias a las recientes adaptaciones de <i>El mal menor<\/i> de Feiling o <i>Distancia de rescate<\/i> de Schweblin, que de repente con los estrenos se dispararon las ventas de los libros. Y con respecto al consumo audiovisual en redes, tambi\u00e9n veo que el nicho se mantiene vivo con medios especializados, bookstagrammers y redes como GoodReads. Lo que provoca un libro sigue siendo irremplazable por otros formatos y quienes buscamos eso lo vamos a seguir encontrando.<\/p>\n<p><b>Por lo general, se tiene la representaci\u00f3n de que el escritor trabaja bastante en soledad. Sin embargo en este libro encontramos varias ilustraciones que acompa\u00f1an los textos \u00bfC\u00f3mo se les ocurri\u00f3 esto y c\u00f3mo fue el proceso de trabajo con Sophi Riviere?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>La idea de laburar con Sophi en un libro era algo que rondaba hace tiempo porque nos conocemos hace muchos a\u00f1os pero nunca se hab\u00eda dado. Un poco fue gracias a que la editorial, Casa de Criaturas, nos dio la libertad de abordarlo creativamente como quisi\u00e9ramos. Ah\u00ed surgi\u00f3 la idea de que cada relato llevara su propia ilustraci\u00f3n. El proceso fue bastante divertido e intuitivo porque ya hemos trabajado juntos varias veces en otros proyectos, entonces fluy\u00f3 de forma org\u00e1nica. Sus fantasmas habitan los pasillos condenados a representar la historia de la Patria una y otra vez. All\u00ed, el destino de los vivos se confunde con el de los muertos. Los relatos que conforman este libro presentan ciclos hist\u00f3ricos de un futuro posible, donde el devenir de cada personaje va hilando una historia colectiva en la que se pone en juego su identidad nacional pero tambi\u00e9n su humanidad.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Autopercibidos pr\u00f3ceres de la Patria, estrellas venidas a menos y ni\u00f1os traumados cohabitan, sin verse, este no-lugar dist\u00f3pico. Ahora estoy leyendo <i>Para ver, cierra los ojos<\/i>, un libro que compila entrevistas y ensayos sobre la obra del animador checo Jan \u0160vankmajer, que es un artista que siempre me parti\u00f3 el bocho; si no vieron <i>Dimensiones del di\u00e1logo<\/i> paren todo y vayan a ver eso en YouTube. Y bueno, voy intercalando eso con las <i>Ficciones patrias<\/i> de la gran Juana Manuela Gorriti, que en pocas palabras es literatura rom\u00e1ntica nacional del Siglo XIX, y con el <i>Hollywood Babilonia<\/i> de Kenneth Anger, que vendr\u00eda a ser un <i>Intrusos<\/i> por escrito del Hollywood cl\u00e1sico pero en vez de Rial ten\u00e9s al frente a un satanista psicod\u00e9lico. Ah, y tengo para arrancar en estos d\u00edas el <i>Galimberti<\/i> de Larraquy y Caballero. Recomendar me cuesta si no conozco al interlocutor, pero creo que tir\u00e9 un poco para todos los gustos.<\/p>\n<p><b>Decinos tres artistas que hayas conocido este a\u00f1o y te hayan sorprendido<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Antes que nada, aclaro que voy a hacer trampa porque todos sabemos que 2020 y 2021 fueron esencialmente el mismo a\u00f1o.
