text_font_size_tablet=\u00bb17px\u00bb text_font_size_phone=\u00bb16px\u00bb text_font_size_last_edited=\u00bbon|phone\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>A grandes \u2013o grotescos- rasgos podemos establecer que el slasher es un subg\u00e9nero de terror cinematogr\u00e1fico que tiene influencias que van desde Psicosis (Psycho, 1960) de Alfred Hitchcock hasta pel\u00edculas provenientes del giallo italiano como Rojo Profundo (Profondo Rosso, 1975) y Bah\u00eda de Sangre (Ecolog\u00eda del delito, 1971) de Dar\u00edo Argento y Mario Bava, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Naci\u00f3 en un contexto en el que los reflectores de las grandes capitales de la industria estaban enfocados en el desarrollo del Nuevo Hollywood y la deconstrucci\u00f3n de las convenciones del cine americano cl\u00e1sico. Casi al mismo tiempo que, hacia el centro de los Estados Unidos, comenzaban a asomarse producciones de presupuestos mucho m\u00e1s modestos que solventaban su falta de recursos con la inventiva propia de la gente que realmente tiene ganas de hacer pel\u00edculas.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed fue que de a poco comenzaron a estrenarse t\u00edtulos como La Noche de los Muertos Vivos (Night of the Living Dead, 1968) de George A. Romero, El Loco de la Motosierra (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 1974) de Tobe Hooper y Diab\u00f3lico (Evil Dead, 1981) de Sam Raimi, s\u00f3lo por citar algunos ejemplos destacados. El poco costo de realizaci\u00f3n y las redituables ganancias de este tipo de propuestas hicieron que los productores del ambiente tomaran nota y comenzaran a explotar la f\u00f3rmula lo m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido posible.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, fue el estreno de Noche de Brujas (Halloween, 1978) de John Carpenter el que termin\u00f3 de establecer el formato del terror slasher cl\u00e1sico de fines de los setenta: un asesino an\u00f3nimo de caracter\u00edsticas sobrenaturales y \u00e1vido de venganza contra los y las j\u00f3venes de la \u00e9poca que intentaban pasar un buen rato en alg\u00fan sitio alejado del conservadurismo de los adultos.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_video src=\u00bbhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nnWw060ygG8&#8243; _builder_version=\u00bb4.11.0&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb module_alignment=\u00bbcenter\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243; global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243;][\/et_pb_video][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.11.0&#8243; text_text_color=\u00bb#000000&#8243; text_font_size=\u00bb17px\u00bb text_line_height=\u00bb1.5em\u00bb custom_margin=\u00bb2%|0%|2%|0%|true|true\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243; text_font_size_tablet=\u00bb17px\u00bb text_font_size_phone=\u00bb16px\u00bb text_font_size_last_edited=\u00bbon|phone\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Los ochenta representaron la edad dorada del subg\u00e9nero gracias a la expansi\u00f3n de sagas de innumerables secuelas y el arribo de grandes \u00edconos como Jason Voorhees en Martes 13 (Friday the 13th, 1980) de Sean S. Cunningham, Freddy Krueger en Pesadilla en lo Profundo de la Noche (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984) de Wes Craven y el s\u00e1dico Chucky, el Mu\u00f1eco Maldito (Child\u2019s Play, 1988) de Tom Holland \u2013otro Tom Holland, el que est\u00e1n pensando ni siquiera hab\u00eda nacido todav\u00eda-.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de continuar siendo rendidor en taquilla, durante gran parte de la d\u00e9cada siguiente el slasher atraves\u00f3 un agotamiento que reci\u00e9n lograr\u00eda renovar con el estreno de Scream, Vigila Qui\u00e9n Llama (Scream, 1996). \u00bfC\u00f3mo? A trav\u00e9s de la autoconsciencia y el tributo a las convenciones del subg\u00e9nero, el director Wes Craven dio con el tono justo para iniciar a una saga que \u2013entre secuelas, series de televisi\u00f3n y un pr\u00f3ximo reboot- contin\u00faa extendi\u00e9ndose al d\u00eda de hoy.<\/p>\n<p>El \u00e9xito de la pel\u00edcula protagonizada por Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox y la recordada participaci\u00f3n de Drew Barrymore como una de las primeras v\u00edctimas del asesino conocido como Ghostface, dio inicio a toda una nueva camada de propuestas del mismo estilo como S\u00e9 lo que Hicieron el Verano Pasado (I Know What You Did Last Summer, 1997) o Leyenda Urbana (Urban Legend, 1998) que, al mismo tiempo, tambi\u00e9n echaron ra\u00edces con varias continuaciones.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_video src=\u00bbhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wAljIe5WTG8&#8243; _builder_version=\u00bb4.11.0&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb module_alignment=\u00bbcenter\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243; global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243;][\/et_pb_video][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.11.0&#8243; text_text_color=\u00bb#000000&#8243; text_font_size=\u00bb17px\u00bb text_line_height=\u00bb1.5em\u00bb custom_margin=\u00bb2%|0%|2%|0%|true|true\u00bb hover_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243; text_font_size_tablet=\u00bb17px\u00bb text_font_size_phone=\u00bb16px\u00bb text_font_size_last_edited=\u00bbon|phone\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb sticky_enabled=\u00bb0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Con el cambio de milenio, el cine de terror vir\u00f3 hacia rincones m\u00e1s abocados a la porno tortura y las muertes elaboradas, siendo El Juego del Miedo (Saw, 2004) de James Wan, la trilog\u00eda de Hostel (Hostal, 2005) de Eli Roth y Destino Final (Final Destination, 2000) de James Wong sus principales exponentes. A pesar de que los elementos propios del slasher estaban latentes en estas pel\u00edculas, su composici\u00f3n se hab\u00eda desdibujado entre tanta tripa y coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Ah\u00ed fue cuando los cl\u00e1sicos comenzaron a volver en forma de remakes, reboots y precuelas: La Masacre de Texas (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2003) y Viernes 13 (Friday the 13th, 2009), ambas dirigidas por Marcus Nispel y producidas por Michael Bay, Halloween: El Inicio (Halloween, 2007) de Rob Zombie, y Pesadilla en la Calle Elm (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 2010), en la que el buen actor Jackie Earle Haley no le pudo hacer ni sombra a Robert Englund como el legendario Freddy Krueger. A pesar de que todas tuvieron desempe\u00f1os aceptables, ninguna logr\u00f3 instalarse en la cultura popular como sus antecesoras.<\/p>\n<p>En 1992, la docente norteamericana Carol J. Clover public\u00f3 Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film (Hombres, Mujeres y Motosierras: G\u00e9nero en las Pel\u00edculas de Horror Moderno), un an\u00e1lisis con perspectiva de g\u00e9nero sobre el cine de terror slasher. Ah\u00ed explica c\u00f3mo estas historias generan una empat\u00eda del espectador hacia la v\u00edctima e instala el concepto de final girl: el personaje femenino que sobrevive a la violencia y misoginia del villano enmascarado.<\/p>\n<p>Estos personajes son tan caracter\u00edsticos de este tipo de pel\u00edculas como los asesinos de cada saga y sus grandes y m\u00e1s destacados referentes son: Laurie Strode, interpretada por Jamie Lee Curtis \u2013hija de la actriz de Psicosis, Janet Leigh- en Noche de Brujas (Halloween, 1978), Nancy Thompson, encarnada por Heather Langenkamp en Pesadilla en lo Profundo de la Noche (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984), y la Sidney Prescott de Neve Campbell en la saga iniciada con Scream, Vigila Qui\u00e9n llama (Scream, 1996).<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, fue reci\u00e9n con Te Sigue (It Follows, 2014) de David Robert Mitchell que los paradigmas en torno a la figura de la final girl comenzaron a mutar, despoj\u00e1ndola de su perfil de inmaculada inocencia y acerc\u00e1ndola a un terreno m\u00e1s adulto y contempor\u00e1neo. En el film, la protagonista es una adolescente perseguida por un ente sobrenatural despu\u00e9s de tener sexo casual con alguien que estaba maldito.
